WrestleMania Rundown!

The grandest stage of them all! WrestleMania comes once a year between the weekend of late March or first week of April. It is a jampacked weekend from Thursday to Tuesday filled with meet & greets, wrestling shows and events! As someone who’s attended WrestleMania twice and will be going to my third? Let me give you a few pointers!

WWE does a great job of announcing the next year’s WrestleMania WAY IN ADVANCE. During WrestleMania 39, they announced that WrestleMania 40 will be in Philadelphia. This gives you an ample amount of time to plan and most importantly *budget*.

  • Request time off work. When WWE announces the dates for WrestleMania Night 1 and Night 2, request those dates off. It is never too early to get that time off! The best days to attend would be Thursday morning and leaving Tuesday morning if you are trying to attend everything.
  • Secure your flight and accommodation ASAP. I try to secure both within two months of the WrestleMania announcement. If you are flying I recommend purchasing the flight that you are able to cancel and receive a full flight credit on if plans change. This also applies to those taking the train. This year I decided to take the Amtrak to Philadelphia to avoid the long security lines and excessive bag fees.
  • Know the events.
    • Thursday: WaleMania
    • Friday: Smackdown/HOF Ceremony
    • Saturday: NXT Stand & Deliver in the morning and then WrestleMania Night 1
    • Sunday: WrestleMania Night 2
    • Monday: Monday Night Raw
    • Please note there are also a ton of independent wrestling shows during this weekend as well (as I am just highlighting WWE events).
  • Presale is your best friend. The best way to get a good price on tickets is purchasing them the day they go on presale. Sign up on WWE’s website to get emails about the events and presale codes. This way you can avoid the extortionate reseller prices.
  • Meet your faves at WrestleCon. Please do not be the unhinged fan that camps out at the airport terminals or the hotels to hound down the wrestling talent. Avoid the potential restraining order and meet them the formal way: MEET & GREET! WrestleCon is a great way to meet your faves (current & past). You can follow their account on IG or Twitter as they announce the talent who will attend. You pay for an admission fee just to enter and there’s a separate fee to take a photo and /or get an autograph by your desired wrestler. The admission fee usually covers your entry for multiple days so you can meet as many talent without stressing. For example: this year I paid $40 for a 3-day pass which gives me a lot time and opportunity to meet wrestlers without rushing or being pressed for time.
  • Plan an itinerary. Planning for me starts from my outfits down to my nails to what I am doing daily. Sorting out everything beforehand makes things easier. WrestleMania weekend can be very busy so having a list can keep a sense of control.
  • Rest and have fun! With a ton of events and shows going on, spreading yourself thin could happen. Make sure you are resting in between your activities. I try to nap before WrestleMania Night 1 & 2 since those are pretty long. Stay hydrated as well. Lastly, remember to have fun! This is such a huge weekend; make sure you are taking it all in and embrace that you are here. Record, take photos and fan out!
